A TRIBUTE TO THE HISTORY OF AVIATION

To pay tribute to the first manned supersonic flight, breaking the sound barrier, Oris is proud to announce the launch of the Big Crown X1 Calculator Chronograph.

The Bell X1 undertook the first manned supersonic flight, breaking the sound barrier on October 14, 1947, and entering the history books. The X1 pilots undertook their amazing feat relying on the specially designed "slide rule" for all calculations.

A TIMEPIECE FULL OF HISTORY

The Oris Big Crown X1 Calculator take us back to the period when the aircrafts were made, using slide rules, this new timepiece sports a rotating bezel, which serves to adjust the slide rule, this element is utilized for the calculation of the fuel consumption for a given flight time.

With a multi-piece stainless steel case, grey PVD plated ,sapphire glass, domed on both sides and double-sided anti-reflective coating, measures 46mm in diameter.

The Oris Big Crown X1 Calculator is powered by the Oris Calibre 675 (Base ETA Valjoux 7750), with 28,800 oscillations per hour and features 25 jewels. The mechanism provides about 48 hours of power reserve and is water resistante to 30 meters.

The case-back is in stainless steel, grey PVD plated screwed, see-through mineral glass with special engravings.

The Big Crown X1 Calculator comes in a special box with slide rule scale on top, DVD of the movie "The Right Stuff", certificate.
