This served as the springboard for the most recent exclusive collaboration between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development of the UAE and Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest watch manufacture with an uninterrupted history since 1755.
The very special timepieces exhibit featured different brands spearheaded by private collectors from the UAE from whom most of the showcased watches were 1 of 1, in other words, only a single piece is in existence worldwide.
The exhibit was first displayed from Nov 29 – Dec 1 in Abu Dhabi after which the final leg moved to be in Dubai from Dec 3 – Dec 5 to coincide with the UAE’s celebration of its 37th National Day.
The Abu Dhabi exhibit was inaugurated at the Emirates Palace in the honorable presence of H.E. Anwar Al Gargash, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE and also attended by H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development.
The Dubai presentation was honorably inaugurated at the Dubai International Financial Center by H.E. Humaid Al Gutami, Minister of Health.
Vacheron Constantin had a special presentation where in 14 exclusive watches were displayed in exclusively-made showcases, numbering up to 7, where each showcase was a representation of one Emirate. The presentation was aptly showcasing “The 7 Emirates: Before and Now.” At the same time, each showcase visually showed, in pictures, the historical progression of each Emirate vis-à-vis the heritage of each Vacheron Constantin watch.
The Vacheron Constantin collection featured timeless elegant watches such as a very exclusive 1929 Art Deco pocket watch… a classical style that we can still now days appreciate in the new collection Quai de L’Ile or the Malte Tourbillon Regulator to name just a few.
