The Opus 12 defies the conventional rules of watchmaking.

This exceptional timepiece deliberately overturns the perception of time by drawing its inspiration from the Copernican revolution.

OPUS 12 goes into action in a remarkable way

It´s hands changing the guard every five minutes.

At each change of the hour, the movement executes a very elaborate drill exercise by the successive rotation of the hands.

Below the retrograde indication, a floating small seconds hand graduated on a translucent ring passes above a power-reserve indicator.

Playing with the watch is very fun and reading it with precision is quite possible.

Presented in an 18Kt white gold 46mm round case with sapphire crystal caseback, revealing the 607 Individual components, is 80 jewel and is two barrel movement.

The dial of course is an interesting mesh work of mechanics.

Harry Winston chose to go with an interesting and almost industrial style of finishing for the movement on the front of the watch.

This creation is a hugely engaging eye-catching festival of motion with the hands being dispensed with in favour of a fascinating cascade of 24 leapfrogging bi-colour metal "swords”.

All of this entertainment is made possible via a mechanism which activates the rotating and turntable actions by means of a toothed ring which orbits the movement and which engages the gearing, itself partially visible beneath a translucent disc bearing the Harry Winston name.
